MPL Summer Internship

The Marine Physical Laboratory at the world renowned Scripps Institution of Oceanography is seeking inquisitive and motivated undergraduate students with an exceptional aptitude for quantitative science with majors in Applied Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Geology.
Undergraduate college students who are contemplating a career in scientific research and development are strongly encouraged to apply for a summer research internship in marine science and technology. This ten-week summer internship program offers qualified students the opportunity to work with some of the most notable scientists in the world while earning a modest salary.
In addition to their research, students will attend weekly seminars given by members of our faculty and scientific staff.
The internship will last consecutive 10 weeks, without breaks. The start date may be determined individually with your advisor, but should be around June 1st or within a few weeks of that time frame.
Students will be expected to give an oral presentation on the work completed through the summer by the end of the ten-week period
Applicant must be a US citizen or permanent resident. Applicant must have completed at least one year of college by the time the internship begins. High school students, senior year undergrads, and former MPL interns are ineligible.
