Specimen #3. Verbatim remarks: "Comaster schlegelii (one observed) in loose meridional posture, completely exposed and raised off low rubble & sand bottom on curled arms. 65 ft. White with distal portion of arms dark green in situ. Cirri white with black & yellow tips; ray bases black; most of arms white; distal arms chiefly black with yellow articulations; pinnules white or white basally and black in distal half with yellow tips. Disk pale bluish-white with black stripes. Ray L = 190 mm; disk diameter 30-35 mm (25 across marginal ambulacral groove); cd diam = 5 mm; cirrus XVI, 15, L = 12 mm. Arm preserved in 95% EtOH. Specimen released on second dive."
