Cruise AT37-13. Details from dive logs and Animal_and_community_collections file. Victoria Orphan dive log: Entering into ‘land of sticks’ sediment bottom with unusual stick like pointy ‘trees’ about 0.5-1 m high. Stopped to collect one in Alvin biobox. Translucent glass-like thin rods/fibers, slight purple tinge. Twisted bundle of fiber optic like fibers. Very weird. Lots of crinoids, brittle stars and other creatures on the sticks. Took video survey of area 8 51.600; 85 7.868 heading 307º. Jorge Cortes dive log: Collection placed in Small Biobox Biosticks (actualy sponge silicous fibers) with crynoids, Stylaster type calcareous hydroid, Solanlaster-like hydroid.
