Verbatim: Santa Ynez Bay Area, Baja California Sur, Mexico. From fossil collection of Nancy and William Schneider. Coordinates reflect the "two additional sites near Bahia Santa Ines" which are considered "nearby suspected equivalent" of the Pleistocene Mulege Formation in Schneider, 1997 (Localities 4 and 5 in Table 1): "One of these localities (Locality 4 in Table 1) is the marine terrace near the Punta Chivato headland at the north end of Bahia Santa Ines, 18 kilometers north of the mouth of Rio Mulege, at a GPS reading of 27°04.115N, 112°58.537'W (Figures 7, 8)....Nearby, to the southwest, another locality (Locality 5 in Table 1) has recently been exposed during the bulldozing of a new road through the desert. A road-material quarry now exists at a GPS reading of 27°02. 693'N, 1 12°01.773W, approximately 40 ft in altitude." Years 1953-2012 reflect active shell-collecting years of Nancy D. Schneider and Bill T. Schneider before donation of this material.
