Cruise AT37-13. This record represents the two clam collection events. Details from Levin lab animal and community collection log. Sample: 4912-ClamScoop. Zone: Active. Sample: 4912-Grab. Zone: Active. From Victoria Orphan dive log: 15:43 at 1842 m: Scoop large Calyptogena clams with small thin cone snails with purplish hue on tip (high def Sci cam photo). Brittle stars also in clam bed. Clam scoop with snails, brittle stars. From Victoria Orphan dive log: 18:12 at 1911 m [should be 1811 m]: Setting up to collect clams with manipulator. Looks like 2 different types, but later confirmed both white and tan are the same species. Also collected large brown mussel in sediment (solitary). Also collected fuzzy armed crab- thought to be a yeti, but later ID as a galatheid crab. Manipulator collection of Clams, brown mussel, one yeti imposter crab.
