PARAHAPANTOTYPE

Parahapantotype. Slide contains fixed and silver-stained ciliates from hemolymph of a single host. Example cells of separate life stages - tropho-tomont, preconjugant, conjugant, protomite, and tomite – are circled in blue, yellow, green, black, and red ink, respectively. Type host: Pachygrapsus crassipes Randall, 1840. Type habitat: Endoparasitic, found in hemolymph and muscle tissues of host species, infected individuals of which were collected in intertidal creeks and vegetated salt marsh at the type locality.
